MINI, the most sophisticated compact premium automotive brand in Malaysia, hosted MINIfest 2023 at Sentul Depot recently. Under the theme of Big Love, Big Fun, MINIfest 2023 brought together a diverse range of activities and entertainment, in addition to a historic display of MINI vehicles where MINIacs of all ages were able to immerse themselves in MINI’s distinct spirit and create experiences over their shared love for the brand.
Big Thrills, Big Fun for the whole family
Over 2,300 MINIacs flocked to Sentul Depot to experience an exciting itinerary of MINI showcases, exclusive test-drives, live entertainment, and a wide array of creative and sustainably-made retail options.
Adrenaline lovers had their thrills on the plethora of popular carnival games that filled Sentul Depot with the sounds of the vibrant and excited crowd. Especially with activations such as the MINI Slingshot, where they were catapulted into the air for a bird’s eye view of the event. Other attendees pored over the MINI Car Boot Sale for trinkets to bring home, as a diverse range of brand partners and local vendors offered a wide array of funky arts and crafts, trendy fashion items and unique recreational accessories. Attendees who registered for the event also got to win a bounty of thrilling prizes curated by MINI and their esteemed partners, through a series of lucky draws that ran throughout the day.
Also present at the festival was the exclusive MINI merchandise booth, where MINI enthusiasts could find a wide range of exclusive MINI-branded items as well as a customisation station that allowed them to personalize their gear, adding a touch of their own individuality to paraphernalia from their beloved brand.
In collaboration with Modle.play, families with their mini MINIacs were treated to two exciting workshops specially designed for them alongside a charming kids play area complete with wooden playsets. The children delighted in being able to construct a Remarkable Battery Powered MINI from scratch, while the second workshop tapped into their creative prowess as they designed their own personalised MINI keychains or jewellery from scratch.
Additionally, attendees had the incredible opportunity to witness the creation of mural art live in action, getting a sneak preview of the artist who will be collaborating with MINI for the upcoming RoofArt Special Edition on the Countryman. With his vibrant and unique art style, the artist crafted from scratch his abridged and artistic perspective of the event, capturing the unique essence and colourful spirit that defined the MINIfest experience.
The entertainment lineup at the MINIfest 2023 featured Psycusix, the leading modern contemporary performance troupe in Malaysia, who enthralled the audiences with a spectacular performance. Additionally, the crowd was entertained with the soothing melodies by artists from Merdekarya, adding to the atmosphere of joy and celebration.
To satisfy the festivalgoers’ appetites, MINIfest also put together an impressive roster of 14 renowned food vendors from Tiffin at the Yard that featured special assortment of MINI-themed delectable delights to satiate the palate of MINIacs.
With all the many activities and experiences available on-ground, the highlight of the event was the MINI Garage, where attendees had the chance to witness the history of the MINI brand and its extraordinary evolution through history. The exhibition allowed attendees to explore the legacy of MINI vehicles and its innovative transformation from its establishment, portrayed through the display of the MINI Classic, the MINI 3-Door R53, the MINI 3-Door R56, the MINI Coupe R58, the MINI Countryman R60, the MINI Paceman JCW R61.
At the MINI Electric Showcase, MINI experts took the opportunity to educate and assure customers about the convenience of charging and living with an electric vehicle (EV) in Malaysia. In collaboration with JomCharge, the booth also served as a hub of expertise, in line with MINI’s goal to provide valuable insights in order to reduce customer anxieties surrounding EV ownership . Furthermore, the booth also offered comprehensive information about charging facilities and apps available throughout Malaysia, facilitated by interactions with the EVC JomCharge team to further help boost customer confidence.
Attendees at MINIfest 2023 also had the exclusive opportunity to experience exhilarating test drives for two of the latest MINI models – The MINI 3-Door Hatch Cooper SE and the MINI Countryman, that allowed drivers to get behind the wheel and immerse themselves in the cutting-edge features, agile handling, exceptional performance that are unique to MINI vehicles.
